Company information
Website privacy notice
Clear information about this website, your information and how to contact us.
Pre-launch review draft, 7 September 2026. This notice is not yet approved for publication. Supplier processing locations, retention arrangements and commercial details must be confirmed before launch.
Who we are
Maaten is a trading name of MAATEN LTD, registered in Scotland, company number SC845153. Registered office: Maaten Ltd, 3 Hill Street, Edinburgh, EH2 3JP.
Contact hello@maaten.com for website, privacy or service questions.
This notice covers the public website and its enquiries, maturity guide and optional analytics. Client platform accounts and consulting delivery need their own applicable privacy and data-processing arrangements.
Enquiries and our lawful basis
We collect the name, work email, company, interest and message you submit. These are sent to our enquiry mailbox so we can respond and discuss relevant services. Our proposed basis is legitimate interests in handling business enquiries and maintaining relevant business relationships. We do not automatically add enquirers to marketing lists. Please do not send sensitive personal data, passwords or confidential client material.
You choose whether to enquire. We need the required fields to process the form; you can instead email us. The privacy acknowledgement confirms you have read the notice, not consent to unrelated marketing.
Technical information and abuse prevention
The server receives your IP address and request information. Hosting access and error logs may record technical activity. Short-lived, hashed request counters limit abuse without storing message contents or guide answers. These protections support our legitimate interest in operating a reliable website. Counter cleanup runs opportunistically; the server manager must configure a private storage location and scheduled removal of expired counters.
The maturity guide
Your fixed-choice answers are processed temporarily to calculate a stage and pillar scores. The website does not save the answers or send them to analytics. The guide offers business planning guidance; it does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about individuals. The local preview uses standard guidance. Optional AI explanations must remain disabled until their provider, processing and transfer arrangements are approved and this notice is updated.
Optional analytics
If Google Analytics is configured, it loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Consent is the proposed basis for this optional measurement. We send only allow-listed interaction categories, not your contact fields, messages or assessment answers. Network requests to the analytics provider still involve technical data. See the cookie notice for storage and how to withdraw consent.
Ask Maaten AI chat
The assistant connects to the existing live Maaten service only after you select Load AI chat. Loading it creates a session cookie lasting up to 30 days and loads supporting resources from external CDNs. The local website does not save your conversation, but the live service processes messages and may retain them. Closing the chat stops this embed; it does not erase provider records. Do not send sensitive or confidential information.
Chat publication gate: confirm the live service operator, model provider, message and upload retention, session-cookie purpose, international processing and applicable lawful basis. The existing assistant's product knowledge, prices and advice also need checking against the relaunch before public use. Microphone, camera and location access are not enabled by this wrapper.
Recipients and international processing
Access is limited to people handling the enquiry and relevant service providers, such as website hosting, email and IT support. Google receives analytics data only when that service is enabled and you allow it. Eventbrite handles bookings on its own website under its notice and the organiser's booking arrangements.
Publication gate: confirm the actual hosting and email suppliers, their processing locations, subprocessors and any UK international-transfer mechanism. Do not infer that a UK registered office or private-AI offer means this website's information stays in the UK. Obtain the applicable processor agreements and provide a way to request details of any transfer safeguards before publishing this notice.
How long information is kept
Enquiry retention must reflect whether a discussion is active, becomes a client relationship, or needs to be kept for a legal obligation or dispute. Hosting logs, email backups and analytics have separate retention settings. These periods and deletion responsibilities must be approved and recorded before launch. We do not promise a deletion period that has not been implemented.
Your rights
Depending on the processing and applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data. Email hello@maaten.com to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also object to direct marketing at any time. Tell us at hello@maaten.com. Withdrawing analytics consent through Cookie settings stops future optional measurement; it does not undo processing already lawfully carried out.
Questions and complaints
Please contact us first if something concerns you. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We will update this notice when the website's processing changes.
